About HEFTBOY BBQ

Our Story

When my wife Cheri and I met, I was a backyard bbq grill guy that did not have a ton of experience smoking meat. I love the smell of charcoal and the process that goes along with it. Cheri was an amazing chef and knew the way to my heart, through my belly. She is very skilled in the kitchen and knows many cuisines including Mexican, Italian, Asian and many more. The more time we spent together, we knew we each brought special talents to the table.

We love nothing more than our family sitting around on a Sunday afternoon with full bellies. This brings us joy. We then decided to put our minds together to start a catering business and Heftyboy BBQ was born. I am a self taught pitmaster from years of experience and many youtube videos. My wife's story is the same. Today, we continue to work as a team to push each other and back each other up. We have entered a couple of bbq competitions. Our first one we took second place as grand reserve champions with a third place ribs trophy as well. Our first chili cookoff we took first place with our New Mexico Tri-Tip chili. So good! We are proud of these moments.

Our business has come a long way and we know we are just getting started. We are Christian people and know God has a much larger plan for us than we can even imagine. We have already been blessed in so many ways and we will continue to pour into God's kingdom and our community so that we can be a blessing to others.
